Resource Visa exists to solve a single problem: getting an overseas specialist lawfully onto an Australian site, against a date, without the application falling over.

Migration expertise backed by commercial experience

A practice built around one problem

That is a narrower practice than most migration firms run, deliberately. We do not act for individual visa applicants. We do not do partner visas, student visas, citizenship or appeals. We act for employers — the companies putting specialists on site — in resources, energy, offshore, infrastructure and defence.

Principal-led, not team-based

Every matter is handled personally by Matthew Coleman. When you call, you speak to the person who will prepare and lodge your application — not an intake team, not an account manager.

That has a limit built into it, and we would rather say so: a principal-led practice cannot take unlimited volume. It is also the reason the work is what it is.

Migration advice with a CFO's signature

Matthew is a Registered Migration Agent (MARN 1686595) and a dual-qualified accountant — CPA (Australia) and CIMA (UK) — with more than twenty years in corporate finance, including group CFO and senior finance roles inside mining, oil and gas, energy infrastructure and marine services businesses.

In a field of migration technicians, that shows up in one place: the business case. Cost of outage per day. Contract exposure. Production impact. Quantified, not asserted.

It matters more since September 2024, when the Department tightened its approach to the Subclass 400. Every application now has to demonstrate with evidence that the work is genuinely specialised and genuinely short-term. The applications that do that well are the ones where somebody has actually costed the outage.

How we work

Same-day triage. Urgent files are assessed the day you call, with an honest read on whether the timeline is achievable.

One document request. A single consolidated list within 24 hours, not a drip-feed.

Fixed fee, scoped in writing. Quoted at the briefing, once we understand the work. Never before.

We will tell you no. If the instrument is wrong or the case will not stand, you hear it at the triage call. Stretching an application past its honest case is how companies end up with a refusal on their record.

Where we work

Perth, Western Australia, acting for employers nationally — including offshore facilities in Commonwealth waters. Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm AWST, with urgent mobilisations triaged the same day.

What we don't do

Individual visa applicants. Partner, family and student visas. Citizenship. Appeals and litigation. General skilled migration.

If you need one of those, we are not the right firm and we will say so on the first call rather than taking the engagement.
